Discover the World of Resistance: Chaos - Tol’s Bane – Behind the Story

For those of you who are new to my page, here’s a little more about the world of Resistance: Chaos - Tol’s Bane, Book 1 and how it all came to be.

The inspiration for Resistance started after a debate with my then-teenage daughters about Nature vs. Nurture. We explored how our environment and upbringing shape us, and that led me to wonder how survival instincts might evolve in a harsh medieval world. This idea became the foundation of Resistance, set in a time when brutal winters and constant danger shape the ambitions of its people.

In Resistance, the peaceful world of Tol is torn apart when the northern empire of Nordinium invades the Southlands. Orphans Perrin and Bren find themselves at the centre of a war they never asked for, holding the key to the Resistance’s survival. Meanwhile, Martyn, a tinker with a dark past, leads the fight against the Brocken soldiers, forging alliances between fractured tribes and uncovering a deeper threat to the land.

The journey to create this world wasn’t always easy, but memorable moments, like seeing the print copy of Resistance for the first time and having the time to write during the COVID lockdown, kept me going.
