The seeds of Resistance were planted during a conversation with my teenage daughters about Nature versus Nurture.

As we explored how the environment shapes who we become, I found myself wondering: how would survival instincts evolve in a harsh medieval world? This question became the foundation for a tale where ancient magic and resistance collide.

In the shadows of the Red Range mountains, where brutal winters forge both character and destiny, the peaceful world of Tol faces its greatest challenge. When the northern empire of Nordinium invades the Southlands, orphans Perrin and Bren are thrust into a conflict they never sought, holding keys to the Resistance's survival. Meanwhile, Martyn, a tinker carrying the weight of a dark past, must unite fractured tribes while uncovering threats that run deeper than the empire's advance.

The journey of creating this world has been both challenging and rewarding. From those first conversations about human nature to seeing the printed pages of Resistance come to life, each step has deepened my understanding of the story's core truth: sometimes the greatest strength lies not in standing rigid, but in knowing when to bend.
